Art Photography
Art photography does not have a strong definition. This
is true for just about everything in the realm of "art." Of
course, it can help to consider it in contrast with other forms of photography.
It is helpful to examine art photography in contrast to photojournalism
and commercial photography. Photojournalism deals with providing visuals
to supplement a story- often a news article of some sort. Commercial
photography deals with selling or promoting a product or campaign.
Art photography operates as the creation of an artist or group of artists.
The reasons for which people choose to use photography as an art form
vary just as much as the reasons why people paint. Also, the methods
used to create artistic photographs vary. For instance, some people
are interested in discovering good shots while others meticulously stage
their works.
